Giulia Mureddu's Biography
Giulia Mureddu, Italy (1973). Giulia studied 'Modern TheaterDance' at the University for Arts in Amsterdam and went on to work with Shusaku Takeuchi, Paul Selwyn Norton, Rogie & Company, Dylan Newcomb, Leine & Roebana, Hans Hof Ensemble and Anouk van Dijk among others.
Over the last few years, Mureddu beside bringing out several projects in the Netherlands such as Bava (2006), Mighty MatPogo (2007), Beige, a guest-choreography for Dansgroep Krisztina de Châtel (2007), Escaping Grey (2008), the duet Amore e Merda (2009), the location project Liquid Space 6.1 (2009), she has also presented her work, given workshops, lectures and participated in exchange programmes at several international festivals and venues including; Cyprus, Italy, Czech republic, UK, Romania, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Palestine and the United States of America.
In 2010 the company was invited to Poland (Gdansk Dance Festival; Zawirowania Dance Theatre Festival, Warsaw), Germany (Künstlerhaus Mousonturm Frankfurt) and the United States ( DNA, New York). In the fall 2010 Mureddu brought out two new works: Intermezzo, a guest choreography for the company Dansgroep Amsterdam and her newest full evening project, Prossimo. Mureddu is also a cofounder of Danslab in the Hague, a center for dance research. In 2011 her newest installation/performance will be presented at several site specific festivals.
